Dan,
I want to thank all of you for such a good night on New Years Eve.  Everyone had a great time and you won over a lot of new fans for Fatz 59.  All I have heard is how good you are and that the people could actually talk to one another and still hear the music.  And what music, you have a great variety of songs at your disposal.  Again, Thank you.

Fatz '59 to perform at Nixa venue
By: Amelia Wigdon

Local band Fatz '59 will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight Aug. 11-12 at Summers at the River, located in Nixa.

Q: What is your style of music?

A: We play blues, rock and roll, funk, and even some rockabilly. We like to choose songs with a strong rhythm section and a nice groove. Our specialty would probably be covering ZZ Top songs.

Q: Who makes up Fatz '59?

A: The band members are Jimmy Dowling (bass, vocals), Stewart Hall (sound engineer), "Smoking Joe" Neff and "Drummer Dan" Brown.

Dowling toured for about seven years on the road with the rock band Crossroad South.

Hall is from Detroit, Mich. He has worked with many big name recording artists and national acts.

"Smoking Joe" is also from Texas. He is very well known locally (Joe Neff Band), and is known as one of the area's best lead guitarists.

"Drummer Dan" is from the Chicago area and is well known in the area for his drum works. He has played with King Clarence, and Tech and the Roadies for starters. He is drums and lead vocals, with Fatz '59.

Q: What type of venue does the band generally play?

A: Our venues include bars, bike rallies, large private parties and an occasional opening act for national acts.

Q: How did you come up with the band name Fatz '59?

A: Our name is from a 1959 Buick that was found on the Internet. We had three different ways to spell it till we settled on Fatz '59.

Q: What would you like to say to your listeners?

A: We would love to say to our listeners, '(Fat Heads), thank you for the support over the years. Keep on visiting www.fatz59.com for our dates and be looking for a new Fatz '59 CD in the near future.'
